Pecos Run and Gun Update…And a New Adventure

After our first serious hike in Dry Canyon carrying all our gear, Colleen and I decided that we had both eaten too many chocolate chip cookies since the Pecos race a year ago. After some discussion we decided to go on a ‘31 Day Pecos Weight Loss Challenge’ in order to drop a few pounds as we get ready for the race. So here is what we decided to do…we will each weigh and then decide how much weight we can reasonably lose during the next 31 days (basically the month of July). We will convert that to a percentage of weight loss and see how we do by the end of the month. In addition to making some simple changes in our respective diets, we will continue our regular training efforts as we work on our fitness levels and shooting skills. And we will keep you posted.

We would also like to encourage any of you who also feel like they have ‘had a few too many chocolate chip cookies lately’ to join us in this challenge. It is for only 31 days. We realize that not everyone needs to do this sort of thing, but for those of you who are interested, we’d be glad to have you join us.
